Shahin Zarinbal is pleased to present Endless Love, Edward Thomasson’s first solo exhibition in Germany. Thomasson will present recent paintings and an installation alongside Security, 2023, a performance with music by Robbie Ellen. Security will be performed by the artist twice a day at 4pm and 5:30pm during the opening week from Thursday to Saturday. Jos McKain will then perform the work each Saturday at 4pm until 21 October. Seating for the performance is limited, so booking is essential. Please book via this link.
Biography
Edward Thomasson makes performances, plays, videos, and paintings about social and sexual interaction. He lives and works in London, UK. Thomasson has presented plays and performances at Migros Museum of Contemporary Art, Zurich, Switzerland (2019), Studio Voltaire, London, UK (2019), West Space Melbourne, Australia (2018), DRAF Studio, London, UK (2016), amongst others. Solo exhibitions include Burning Desires, Phillida Reid, London (2023); The Present Tense, Chisenhale Gallery, London (2014), and Inside, South London Gallery, London (2011). Selected group exhibitions include Testament, Goldsmiths CCA, London (2022), United by AIDS - An Exhibition about Loss, Remembrance, Activism and Art in Response to HIV/AIDS, Migros Museum of Contemporary Art, Zurich, Switzerland (2019). Thomasson has collaborated with Lucy Beech on performance projects since 2007. Together they have exhibited in theatre and exhibition spaces including Tate Britain (2017), Maureen Paley, London (2016), Barbican Theatre (2011).
